Custom Laser Cut Map Art

These customized maps are a beautiful way to remember a special event, for example, your proposal location, wedding venue, or purchase of a new home. They make a great wedding gift, a welcome present for real estate agents, or just a special present for a loved one. I make these by hand with three layers of wood for a raised 3D effect. I’m a new seller, but I hope you will give me a chance to earn a great review! Note: The measurements, such as 11×14, are the inside wood art size; the frame is much larger, so an 11×14 looks quite large on the wall. It’s my recommended size!

With my landscape format maps, there is more room for text at the bottom. Unlike other sellers, I will not just include a city name but any customized text you would like. For example, “Home Sweet Home”, your proposal location and date, your home city, or anything else you like. These maps are unique because the text is not just engraved into the wood, but it’s cut out for a 3D effect over the lower layers. Of course, the text needs to be reasonably short. I recommend 20-25 characters for an 11×14. Not only can you have custom text, but you can also have a custom location icon, such as a heart, house, map icon, etc. I can even put two icons if you have a loved one nearby.

These custom maps are made from Baltic Birch and take hours to produce. Check out my video for some behind-the-scenes footage. I start with designing and customizing the map to your desired location. Then, I will add your text and any other recommended customizations. Next, I cut the three different layers of the map on an XTool P2S laser. Then, I hand paint the background for the water and enhance the richness of the natural wood layers with Danish Oil. Finally, I glue, assemble, and frame the map in a floating canvas frame.
